Which inverter type do you need?
The first and most important decision — it shapes both cost and capability.

Single-phase or three-phase?
Determined by the site's supply and system size, not preference:
- Single-phase — residential and light-commercial, typically up to around 12 kW.
- Three-phase — commercial and industrial, and anything above the single-phase ceiling. Balances load across phases.
Watch-out: match the inverter's phase to the site's actual supply — the most common (and expensive) spec error is caught on site.

Common questions
How do I size an inverter to my array?
Size by the DC-to-AC ratio — total panel watts divided by inverter watts. For the high-irradiance conditions across our markets, a ratio around 1.2 is a sensible starting point; modest array oversizing captures more energy without significant clipping. Confirm the string voltage sits inside the inverter's MPPT window across temperature extremes.
Hybrid vs string — what's the difference?
A string (grid-tied) inverter converts DC to AC with no battery — cheapest and most efficient where the grid is reliable. A hybrid manages panels, battery and grid together, essential wherever backup or self-consumption matters.
Which battery works with a Solis hybrid inverter?
Compatibility depends on voltage class (HV vs LV) and communication protocol. We confirm tested-compatible inverter-and-battery pairings from our portfolio — ask for a compatibility check with your quote.
